This project showcases the engineering design and detailed modelling of a heavy-duty tri-axle trailer dolly developed for Australian road transport applications. Extensive engineering calculations and hand calculations were undertaken to verify the structural integrity of the chassis and critical load-bearing components, ensuring compliance with the relevant Australian Standards and the safety requirements applicable to heavy vehicle transport. Particular attention was given to practical fabrication, manufacturability, serviceability, and efficient assembly, with realistic structural details and production-ready documentation developed to reflect industry manufacturing practices. This project demonstrates Geometric Design Engineering’s capability in heavy vehicle engineering, structural steel design, engineering calculations, and practical solutions for the Australian transport industry.
